Our cosy holiday cottage, Gapple Cottage, is situated on the Wild Atlantic Way, at the foot of the Glenalla Hills, Rathmullen, in North West County Donegal. The cottage has a very peaceful and tranquil setting, on a small working farm, making it ideal for holiday makers seeking a quiet country retreat.This traditional self-catering cottage accommodation boasts two bedrooms, a large kitchen, shower room, central heating, a wood-burning stove in the living room and sea views. The kitchen has all modern facilities with oven, microwave, washing machine, toaster, kettle and iron and ironing board. Sheets, towels and linen are provided.
The quiet country roads and lanes surrounding the Gapple Cottage holiday home are ideal for walkers. Nearby Croaghan Hill (1,008 feet) and Crockanaffrin (1,137 feet) are notable viewpoints affording exceptional panoramic views of Lough Swilly to the east and Mulroy Bay to the west.

The cottage is an ideal base for exploring County Donegal, the Wild Atlantic Way and the North West of Ireland: it is four miles from the historic town of Rathmullan, Kerrykeel, the market town of Milford and five miles Ramelton heritage village. The area forms part of the Fanad Peninsula, with some of the best sea and cliff scenery in Ireland, stretching from Milford to Fanad Head and back down to Ramelton via Portsalon and Rathmullan.The Inishowen and Rosguil Peninsulas, the Donegal Highland Derryveagh mountain range, the Glenveagh National Park and the historic walled City of Derry are all with an hours drive of the cottage.
Being less than four miles from the Milford Inn Hotel, the cottage also makes an attractive accommodation option for guests at this popular wedding venue.
